“As we come out of the other side of two long and difficult years, we feel a sense of renewal and energy as we look to the future and find inspiration from the next generation of entrepreneurs who are building a better world,” said Catherine Santamaria, director of the RBPC.

“This year’s competition celebrates student founders with a strong sense of purpose — founders who are ready to adapt, build and grow businesses that can change the future,” Santamaria said. “We hope their participation will provide guidance and inspiration to our community.”

This year’s startups were chosen from more than 400 applicants and will compete in five categories: energy, cleantech and sustainability; solutions for life sciences and healthcare; consumer products and services; hard technology; and digital business. With students from four countries, the 42 startups represent 31 universities, with 11 universities represented by two different teams.
