SWOSU plans improvements to the Business Enterprise Center

WEATHERFORD — Southwestern Oklahoma State University plans to improve capital assets at the Business Enterprise Center on the Weatherford campus.

The improvements are part of a new collaboration with the Timothy T. Day Foundation, a nonprofit based in Phoenix, Arizona. The foundation strives to improve the facilities and programs of educational institutions that strengthen free enterprise and economic development.

The Timothy T. Day Foundation’s $300,000 investment in SWOSU will improve BEC’s physical plant capital assets and enable the expansion of BEC’s workforce training programs and activities . The gift from the Day Foundation will also provide endowment funding to support BEC’s ongoing needs.

The BEC will be renamed The Timothy T. Day Business Enterprise Center.

Timothy T. Day was the principal founder of Bar-S Foods Co., a manufacturer and marketer of deli meats and cheese, with Oklahoma operations in Clinton, Elk City, Altus and Lawton. Bar-S has over 1,500 employees, including 50 SWOSU graduates. Bar-S also has factories in Wisconsin and Texas.

Day is Chairman and President of the Timothy T. Day Foundation and CEO of the Timothy T. Day Family Office.
